On the day of your chin augmentation surgery in Chicago, Dr. Shastri, Dr. Gill and the surgical staff will welcome you, get you settled in the procedure room, and review your treatment plan in case you have any last-minute questions or concerns. Once you give the go-ahead, a board-certified anesthesiologist will administer anesthesia to ensure that you are pain-free during the entirety of the procedure.
Once you are sedated, our board-certified surgeons will skillfully make a small incision under the chin or inside the mouth to create minimal scarring. Once he has access to the underlying tissue, he will insert the customized and medically sanitized implant in the most appropriate position, checking the final profile of the face before setting it in its ultimate position. Once he is satisfied with the facial symmetry and balance, he will seal the incision with sutures.
On average, without complications, chin augmentation surgery will take approximately an hour to complete.
